Florida Businessmen Purchase Two Memorable Asheville Buildings

The former S&W Cafeteria and the Windsor Hotel have both been sold to a Miami Beach gynecologist who, with his partners, are planning to do some big business in Asheville. The S&W Building alone has been sold for almost 2.5 Million Dollars (in 2007 it was worth 2.45). Back in 2007 the old Windsor Hotel was worth almost just as much, $2.3K.

The Buncombe County Deeds registry office has confirmed that these iconic and popular Asheville buildings have been purchased. The partners that are located in North Carolina have been unable to be contacted at this moment. It is unclear what is going to happen to these well loved buildings. Whatever happens, we can predict that it will be lucrative for the investors.

Previous investments and business ventures by the same people have been in Colorado and Florida and consisted of expensive ventures as well. Condominiums, Private Planes and Air Transportation methods, Yacht and expensive boat sales are a few of the lavish things they have invested in.

Hopefully any restoration and future plans for these buildings will bring with them extra jobs for Asheville citizens.

But what we can tell quite easily from these purchases, is that businessmen have faith in Asheville NC's economy. Businessmen, especially well established and experienced ones such as these, do not simply invest this much money into something they don't think has potential.

This can only mean good. The future is still bright for an economic turn up which will bring more jobs and opportunities for people looking for Asheville Jobs.

Jobs in Asheville NC - Overview

A nice guest post on an overview of Asheville Jobs.

Jobs are hard to come by in this time of economic recession. Virtually every sector we know has been hit, and hit hard. But jobs in Asheville seem to be pretty steady compared to the commercial hubs of the USA. Although the job market is not quite so promising as it once was, it is not as bad as it could be, and this is something to be thankful for.
Ashville seems to be floating a wave of good luck; its own financial status is quite secure and the little city boasts a good, stable economy. But on slightly closer inspection, one sees that it is not so much good luck that has saved Asheville, but infrastructure. Just have a look at some of the city’s biggest employers – Mission Health system, Buncombe Valley School system and the state of North Carolina; all of these are relatively incubated from the horrors of the corporate world and as such does not have to suffer quite so terribly from its woes. The top three employers – Mission Health system, Ingles and Buncombe Valley School; each employ well over three thousand people, all from the city’s 408,000 employable inhabitants. It is not surprising, then, that the best places to look for steady jobs are in medicine, education and grocery stores.
One thing that many people forget is that due to the prosperity of these sectors, some secondary sectors also flourish. It is not very difficult to become some kind of entertainer or small businessman, with a large number of schools, children’s amusements and school supplies are always required. The thriving local culture has sprouted some interesting music scenes where street performance are very common. Who knows, you may end up getting discovered and become a celebrity if you want to try out as a musician!
Ultimately it boils down to you – what you want, your qualifications and how willing you are. These 3 criteria should dictate what career you choose.
